Quickstart: Submitting Your First Job
You can submit jobs using either the Solti CLI or directly via the REST API.
Quickstart via CLI
Install the CLI:
# Via pnpm / npm
pnpm add -g @solti/cli
# Or via uv / pip
uv tool install solti-cli
Log in (browser opens — see Creating Your Account & Workspace):
solti account login
Create your workspace (skip what you already have):
solti organization create my-org # only if you have no organization yet
solti project create my-project --org my-org
solti project use <project-id>
Run a simple hello-world workload:
# Inline submission with automatic default resources (1 CPU, 4Gi memory)
solti job run --image alpine:latest -- echo "Hello from Solti!"
Track the execution in real-time:
solti job list
solti job status <job-id-or-name>
Or just ask your AI agent with the solti-quickstart skill — it performs all of the above (and cloud connection setup) from a single prompt.
Quickstart via cURL / REST API
Submit a workload using POST /1/jobs:
curl -X POST https://<your-project-id>.api.solti.run/1/jobs \
-H "X-Solti-API-Key: <your-api-key>" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"namePrefix": "quickstart-",
"image": "python:3.13-slim",
"command": ["python", "-c"],
"args": ["import sys; print(f\"Python {sys.version} running on Solti!\")"]
}'
Both JSON (Content-Type: application/json) and YAML (Content-Type: application/yaml) request bodies are accepted — the examples in other docs use YAML for the same endpoint.
Because resources was omitted, Solti automatically assigns the default 1 CPU and 4Gi memory allocation. See Hardware Constraints & Default Resources.
