Creating Your Account & Workspace

Authentication & Tenant Hierarchy

Solti utilizes Logto for user identity and Zitadel for role-based project tenancy:

  • Organization — top-level billing and team boundary.
  • Project — isolated workspace containing cloud connections, jobs, cronjobs, and API keys.

Authenticating (CLI OAuth — primary path)

After signing up, the fastest way to interact with Solti is logging in from the terminal:

  1. Install the Solti CLI (see the CLI manual).
  2. Run solti account login — your browser opens the LogTo sign-in page.
  3. Sign in once. The CLI stores your credentials locally and is ready to use.

No API key or dashboard round-trip is required. AI agents can go further with the solti-quickstart agent skill (organization/project creation, cloud connections, and the first job — all from a single prompt).

Generating an API Key (CI / automation alternative)

For headless environments (CI, shared machines), generate an API Key:

  1. Navigate to the Solti Dashboard.
  2. Select your Organization and Project.
  3. Open Project Settings > API Keys and click Create Key.
  4. Choose an access role (developer or admin).
  5. Copy the generated Zitadel Personal Access Token (PAT).
warning

The clear-text token is displayed only once. Store it in your secret manager immediately.

  1. Use it via the SOLTI_API_KEY (+ SOLTI_PROJECT_ID) environment variables, --api-key flags, or the X-Solti-API-Key HTTP header.
